Service Description

Service Description:
Bentley Baptist Community Food Bank (BBC Food Bank) is part of Bentley Baptist Church and is an independent Food Bank run solely by volunteers.

Working within a Christian ethos, our aims are to feed the hungry, help those in need, and show care and compassion.

We do this by providing food parcels to those in need in our communities, and those referred to us by various agencies within the Doncaster area.

Although based in Bentley, we are here to serve North Doncaster (Post Code Area DN5). If a referral is made for someone living outside DN5 and there is another, closer Food Bank they may be able to access, we reserve the right to contact that Food Bank and enquire if they are already being helped, and where appropriate pass the referral to them.

We are open every Monday afternoon, except Bank Holidays, from 1.00pm to 3.00pm, and anyone who has been referred to us can collect their food parcel then. Please come to the side entrance on Shakespeare Road. If a client is unable to attend because they are housebound or isolating, they can nominate someone to collect on their behalf, or collection can be made by the agency making the referral. In exceptional circumstances, we will make a delivery sometime between 12.30pm and 3.30pm.

We are also happy to accept walk-in self-referrals during opening hours. Those wishing to self-refer should bring some form of ID and proof of address, together with details of any benefits they are receiving.
